My Practice

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read my website. I invite you to experience the combination of talk therapy, mindfulness, and somatic therapy. Through my years of therapy and coaching I have discovered that talk therapy can limit your results. In life and in therapy we often get stuck in cyclical patterns of behavior. I will teach you a way to work through these patterns. My intention is to empower you to get the results that you have wanted to achieve but somehow stopped yourself from accomplishing. The mind body awareness that is achieved from sessions can give you a recipe of how to deal with difficult things in life as they occur in life. You will learn to be more contemplative and less reactive in crises and will develop breathing and coping skills that will enable you to handle the many difficulties that life can bring your way. These difficulties will become healthy challenges once you discover your inner being and how to embrace the challenges instead of running from them.

The sessions are non-threatening where I am an equal partner. We develop a coaching relationship with the intention of empowerment, and I offer interpretations and evaluations without judgment. My greatest assets as a therapist are that I am truly genuine, open and easy to talk to. I have a human quality that allows me to connect with clients in a purely authentic way. Irvin Yalom, one of the main theorists of group therapy once said, “It is the relationship that heals”. I believe that with all the training therapists have and all the different modalities, Yalom’s statement stands true. My clients have gotten better because of the relationship, the bond, the intimate trust that is held within our sacred therapy space.

My training as a therapist began 25 years ago as a personal fitness trainer when my clients would share their most intimate secrets with me. I knew I needed more knowledge and expertise to deal with the many issues I was being faced with, and in 2001, I pursued my Master of Social Work degree at Fordham University with a clinical concentration. I have taken continuing education courses in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), mindfulness; treatment for addictions, depression, anxiety, relationships, and most recently Somatic Experiencing. I continue to study and take courses in these areas to further my skills and abilities to treat clients in the most holistic, effective way possible. I have passion in my work and I welcome you to be a part of this amazing journey!
